"Interesting news today has archaeologists finding Noah's Ark. According to online reports archaeologists are 99.9% sure they have found Noah's Ark"!
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worl....html?ITO=1490 Could it be true?

Heard about it a while ago. They narrowed down where it should be and then found man made sections of wood which have been dated to be around when it is supposed to have happened. Interesting stuff.

Interesting, true. But how much water would have to cover the planet to get the arc up to that altitude?

That's a point but since the boat is there, either someone launched it into water or built it anticipating launching it in the water.
Why else would someone build a boat there?

i dont think it is about it being built there to be launched from there. i think the point is that is where it came to rest. according to the story. it would have launched as waters rose around that general middle eastern area. I doubt once afloat it would have "sailed" too far away. Just kind of moved with the water until it dropped and they were able to put it to rest on the 1st land mass they could find at that time. allegedly.

Well then, if it came to rest there then that means the water level was that high and goes back to Scott's question ....

As we saw in the movie 2012, it doesn't necessarily mean there is more water, just more water in 1 area at 1 time. Although it is a biblical story so as much as God can cause more water to be covering the entire planet, He can also remove that excess as well I guess. But then I am no theologian.

I don't understand why people have to jump all over other people all the time. If it is true or false, it will reveal itself in time. They should just leave them to it and if they find it then good and if they don't then it will be known.

I didn't take the comments in the article that way, but I understand your feelings.
All too many times people are willing to jump on the boat of criticism without bothering to get both sides of the story or all the facts of the circumstances. Unfortunately this can lead to statements being taken out of context, and then things really break loose! No doubt that in time, the truth will be revealed.
